  • US Team captain Carlos Bocanegra moved was sold from Rennes of Ligue 1 fellow French side Saint-Etienne.
  • According to the BBC, former Chicago Fire head coach Bob Bradley will sign an extension to stay on as head coach of the US national team.
  • Jozy Altidore is in high demand.  The latest clubs showing interest in legendary Dutch side Ajax and Turkish side Besiktas. Altidore’s current club Villareal has said they are entertaining offers for the 20-year-old American striker. Since then a myriad of European clubs from shown an interest. From Serie A sides Napoli and Palermo to Glasgow Celtic of the Scottish Premier League.
  • The sale of Michael Bradley from Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach to Everton has gained steam, according to the Express. Newly promoted Premier League side Blackpool is also rumored to be interested.
  • AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu has been targeted as Celtic’s back-up plan if the Glasgow super club can’t sign former England international Sol Campbell. Gooch has resisted all offers to be moved from the San Siro, longing for an opportunity to play in Serie A. He is even playing for free this season as a sign he wants to prove himself at Europe’s highest level. “He is adamant about staying at AC Milan,” Onyewu’s agent, Lyle Yorks, told the MLS website. “I’m really not even listening when something comes in anymore.” That doesn’t seem to stop the rumors surrounding the 28-year-old defender.
  • US midfielder Jermaine White may be pricing himself out of the reach of many clubs that could and would use him. After a trial with the Chicago Fire, Chicago GM Frank Klopas said they just couldn’t afford the Schalke players asking price and now a Turkish club has also pulled out of the running to sign the player.
  • Jay DeMerit is looking for a Premier League move, but only Blackpool is interested, whereas Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United of the Championship are possibilities. The 30-year-old US international also has Major League Soccer as an option.
  • DaMarcus Beasley also has plenty of Major League Soccer options, but the latest rumor for the out-of-contract former Rangers standout, is newly promoted Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.  Fulham was interested in 28-year-old midfielder, but the movement of manager Roy Hodgson to Liverpool has rendered that interest mute.
  • Freddy Adu is in danger of being without a club, he was loaned from Portuguese double winners Benfica to Greek club Aris last season, but now is being returned to Portugal to a team that may not want him.  What is next for the former hope of US Soccer?


  • Mexican International and Barcelona midfielder Rafa Marquez is still the main focus of New York Red Bull to join Juan Pablo Angel and Thierry Henry as the team’s 3rd designated player. Marquez worked with Red Bull manager Hans Backe when he was an assistant with the Mexican National Team and he played for two seasons with Henry at Barcelona.
  • Portuguese double winners Benfica are interested in grabbing Mexican international Andres Guardado from cash strapped Deportivo La Coruña. Premier League sides Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested.
  • West Ham United have made the signing of Mexican winger Pablo Barrera official last week.  The former UNAM Pumas standout hope he will be able to deliver at Upton Park. “People have said that I am the sort of player that the fans want to have the ball as often as possible because I can make things happen.”
  • Celtic has signed UNAM Pumas standout midfielder Efrain Juarez. The 23-year-old Mexican international has joined the Bhoys in North America where they are preparing for the Scottish Premier League season, with a series of friendlies against Manchester United and Major League Soccer teams.
  • Ligue 1 side Paris St-Germain and Premier League side Sunderland look to battle it out over Mexican defender Hector Moreno.  The 22-year-old AZ Alkmaar standout told Sky Sports that he’d rather the Paris move.

  • Liverpool and Stoke City are both targeting Wigan’s Honduras defender Maynor Figueroa, according to the Mirror.
  • Liverpool are also very interested in grabbing Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz from Eredivisie Champions FC Twente. The offer for the versatile striker, according to the Mirror, is in $19 million range. “There is a chance I will stay, but it is likely that I’m leaving.” Ruiz said of his future with Twente. “Certainly if I get a chance at an ambitious club, I would like to take it.”
