SUMMER FRIENDLY UPDATE: Fox Soccer Channel Expands Coverage of Summer Friendlies



Fox Soccer Channel has lined up a tasty menu of Summer Friendlies. This week the network will show both the Seattle
Sounders v Boca Juniors from Qwest Field on Wednesday and Chicago Fire v AC Milan from Toyota Park on Sunday.

Both matches are scheduled to be shown LIVE on the channel.

The Boca-Sounders match, which kicks off at 10:30pm ET (7:30 PT), will be the second summer friendly to air on FSC after the New York Red Bull v Juventus match, which aired on Sunday.

Next Sunday’s Fire-Milan match, which kicks off at 8:30pm ET will feature a half hour pre-match show beginning at 8pm ET.


FSC has also added a number of July matches to it’s schedule, including the inaugural New York Football Challenge featuring Red Bull taking on Premier League sides Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur as well as Sporting Lisbon from Portugal. It is as yet unclear if the network will broadcast all four games of the tournament, but details will be posted when they are available.

In addition to the New York tournament, scheduled to take place at Red Bull Arena July 22-25, FSC will return to Qwest Field to air Celtic’s trip to Seattle to take on the Sounders. Manchester United’s trip to New Arrowhead Stadium to battle the Kansas City Wizards will also air on the the channel.

The Boca Juniors visit to Seattle Sounders at Qwest Field on Wednesday, which kicks off at 10:30pm ET (7:30 PT) will be the first friendly of the Summer for Seattle and the Emerald City’s customary big crowds are expected. Boca will be arriving after having faced the LA Galaxy on Sunday at the Home Depot Center.

The Ac Milan trip to Chicago will culminate 10 days of International Summer friendlies at Toyota Park. The Fire hosted their inaugural Chicago Sister Cities International Cup, which wrapped up with a double header yesterday featuring Paris-Saint Germain, Legia Warsaw and Champions Red Star Belgrade.
