US OPEN CUP: UPDATED SCORES AND SCHEDULE

US OPEN CUP UPDATE:

DATES SET FOR DC UNITED – REAL SALT LAKE & NEW YORK RED BULL-NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION

Six United States based Major League Soccer teams (Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, Columbus Crew, Houston Dynamo, Los Angeles Galaxy and defending Champions Seattle Sounders) have already qualified for the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup but there are still two spots up for grabs. Those spots are being contested by the nine remaining US based teams. Last week, New York Red Bull eliminated Philadelphia Union last week and DC United did the same to FC Dallas for the second time in as many years. Highlights of the latter match can be seen here.

In other action Real Salt Lake eliminated host San Jose Earthquakes on penalty kicks and now have plans to visit DC United at RFK Stadium on June 2 in the first of two ‘Win and You’re In’ clash to decide one of the two remaining qualifiers.

Colorado Rapids beat Kansas City Wizards and now wait in the wings to play the winner of the May 12 clash between the New York Red Bull-New England Revolution at Red Bull Arena.

The Rapids will visit the winner of the New York-New England match and the second ‘Win and You’re In’ contest will be decided at a date TBD.

New England Revolution at New York Red Bulls – May 12, 8 p.m. – Red Bull Arena (Harrison, NJ)

‘Win & You’re In’ MATCHES:

Real Salt Lake at DC United – June 2, 7:30 p.m. – RFK Stadium (Washington D.C.)

Colorado Rapids at New England/New York winner – Date TBA
